Supported Sailing Off to a Flying Start

We were delighted to relaunch our Saturday Supported Sailing sessions this weekend—a fantastic initiative designed to help less experienced sailors build confidence on the water, with a safety boat and experienced sailors always on hand.
The first session took place yesterday in near-perfect conditions and proved to be a great success. Under the guidance and watchful eye of our Vice Commodore, Ted Hill, alongside Sailing Secretary Noel Bradshaw, who also led as instructor, participants were in excellent hands throughout. Our Club Welfare Officer, Helen Colyer, provided invaluable support, expertly helming the safety boat and ensuring everyone felt safe and supported.
A wide variety of boats took to the water, including Oppies, Toppers, Lasers, and Wayfarers. It was especially encouraging to see new members getting involved and making the most of both the ideal conditions and the welcoming, supportive environment.
With glorious spring weather setting the scene, it was a truly enjoyable day. Its always a pleasure to see sailors developing their skills and confidence in such a special setting—and we look forward to many more successful sessions to come.
Our next Supported Sailing session will take place on Sunday 17th May, following the morning of racing. Do come along early to make the most of the day—the galley will be open.
All upcoming dates can be found on the home page calendar.
