Glorious Sailing and Good Fun at the Hickling Village Regatta

There was glorious weather for this years celebration of sailing that is the Hickling village regatta. With winds ranging from gentle to strong, with a bit of plain unpredictable in the final race, there was something for everyone!

Although mainly a regatta for river cruisers and half- deckers, HBSC has increased the presence of dinghies so that this year we had everything from a one off traditional broads dinghy to a Dart 18 catamaran.

Congratulations to Jane and Megan Pye who won the legendary Bloodbath race in their punt Wild goose 2, to Emily Vaughan (who first started sailing in May!) who won the newly inaugurated Crews race (the crew has to helm) in the punt Peregrine and to Delith Crook who won the dinghy prize in her diminutive boat Rose.

Big thanks to James Crook and his team for again organising such a happy and enjoyable event.
