Hickling Broad is for...learning
As an RYA Recognised Training Centre, we run courses throughout the year to develop our sailors to a range of different levels.
We also provide training in powerboat usage, a key part of effective safety cover
Check out our events list to find a course that is right for you.
Hickling Broad is for... families
We are a very welcoming club, catering for all people interested in boats. Whether you or a member of your family are a pleasure sailor, a racer, new to the experience or someone who has been around boats all your life, there is a membership that will suit you.

Hickling Broad is for... leisure
With a consistent water level and an open slipway, it is really easy to launch your boat anytime. Many of our members are leisure sailors, choosing to enjoy steady winds and open water. With relative ease and a little time you can sail to Horsey Mere or Potter Heigham.
There are a number of Picnic Cruises organised through the year, with locations decided on wind strength and direction. These will be advertised in the Events section of the website.
Hickling Broad is for... children
As a club we recognise that the children are our future. There are many opportunities for our younger members to become competent, confident sailors who can use their skills in a variety of ways.
T-Sails (after school on Tuesdays throughout the summer) and RYA courses throughout the year provide opportunities for skill development.
There are regular junior / novice races on Sundays, and at regattas there are Junior class starts. We are always keen to have younger members joining the fleet starts on race days, and the regular racers draw on many years of experience and are always happy to share guidance and advice.
Hickling Broad is for... racing
