RYA PB2 Course
Powerboat Level 2 is a two-day course that teaches boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. It can take place in planing or displacement boats and the certificate issued will be endorsed to say in which type of boat the training took place.
The course is based on both practical and theory learning. The majority of the two days will be out on the water.
Pre-requisites:
No prior boating experience is required.
Minimum age for students is 12 years old. If the student is between 12 and 15 years of age, the certificate will be endorsed such that the holder should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult.
There is no minimum-level swimming ability stipulated, but the student should be water confident and preferably able to swim. You MUST tell the Instructor in charge of the course if the student is a non-swimmer. Non-swimmers may be required to wear life jackets instead of buoyancy aids.
