T-Sail is a Tuesday evening junior sailing session. 17:00 arrival to rig boats and change, for a 17:30 briefing. Parents and carers are required to stay and supervise their children. We offer an RYA instructor part led session with safety boat cover. We find that around 8yrs old children are physically and mentally able to learn to sail. Younger siblings are welcome and any keen youngsters are usually given sailing opportunities to crew in the larger boats. We welcome children with no experience of sailing, usually by the end of the season they will be confident and competent in a small dinghy. Club toppers and feva's can be hired for these sessions, we require juniors to be able to sail to a stage two standard. We do expect that club boats are hired for a maximum of six sessions only to allow others the use of these boats. Secondhand junior boats are frequently for sale inside the clubhouse notice board.
These sessions are relaxed and fun, aimed at learning through play. There will be hot galley food, please order food on arrival. We are all volunteers and rely on parents and carers helping with these sessions, please complete the duty roster for any sessions you can assist us with. Note: all children are expected to wear a 50n well fitted buoyancy aid on and off the water, with the exception of inside the clubhouse building.
