Social Events Hickling Broad Sailing Club offers much more than just sailing. While, of course, sailing is a big part of nearly every event at the club, there are plenty of opportunities to relax with your new found friends. Here are just a few activites to pique your interest. Parties & Annual Events Every year there are several key parties not to be missed at HBSC right at the beginning of the season, everyone attends the Fitting Out supper. For new members, this is a good get together you'll meet the people whom you'll see around the club all season. Wednesday evenings are apres Sailing in the Pleasureboat inn after sailing Shortly after the season is in full swing there are many other Social Evenings going on from Dinner after the Club Cruise, Summer regatta BBQ, Our Junior BBQ, Winter Skating and Annual trip by many members to the Barton Regatta.
Finally to Close the Sailing season is our Biggest event which is the Autumn Social & Prizegiving. On a slightly more formal note (no need for rubber pants and lifejackets), the Autumn social has traditionally been remembered with fine food, Dancing and a round up of the years Sailing with fond memories of a summer well spent and the anticipation of next season. We all missed Wednesday evening Apres Sailing so during the Winter non Sailing months we have Pubamonth, look out for dates and venues published on the Website nearer the time. There are several other events and parties that members put on throughout the summer at HBSC, Or feel free to come down to the club at any time with a good book or newspaper, grab a drink from the Galley Socials evenings are organized by The social secretary. The Committee welcomes new ideas for social evenings at the club please feel free to put your suggestions in the suggestion book in the Clubhouse. |
